Saddest Season

I hate reporting bad news. It's so hard to talk.

August 31, 2016 we lost our Pug Princess, MissyLu.  There was no warning. She seemed perfectly healthy. She went out on the Poop deck to tend to her business and five minutes later Mom looked out and MissyLu was lying on her side, her tongue hanging out. Mom freaked out, ran out and grabbed her up screaming for Dad. By the time Mom got to the kitchen where Dad was, MissyLu was gone.

Mom went hysterical with the shock and grief.  Never saw such goings on. Doesn't Mom know that MissyLu is now with me at Rainbow Bridge? And just as snooty as ever, I might add. We'll all be waiting for you, Mom.

And now for part two of the saddest season.

Hooter, aka Hoot Mon, has also come to the Bridge.  It's getting crowded here!  Hooter's departure wasn't a shock, 'cause he had a big old spindle cell carcinoma all around his lower jaw. Mom had been hand feeding him, making dog food soup for him and doing her best to keep him going. Time came when he couldn't get enough food down, even with all Mom's effort.  And we all know that food is a HUGE part of quality of life for a Pug.  The hard decision to let Hoot go was made and September 28, 2016 he came to join us.

Hooter has joined his brother, Pippin, in the pet cemetery along with all the rest of us; BJPug, myself, MsPogie and even a couple of cats.  MissyLu is not there, though. The old folks had her cremated and put her in a gold urn that sits right on the fireplace mantle.
